Liberals and Immigration
Like right now on the radio they are sort of introducing the upcoming State of the Union Address (which I actually suspect turning off might be good for my nerves, but haven't decided yet)...
The strategy of the Liberals regarding things like immigration seems to be to confuse and blur as many lines as possible.
Like on this news show, they seem to be trying very hard to make people think of immigrants from places like India who know how to do techjobs and unskilled immigrants from other parts of the world as "the same thing". No they are NOT the same thing. Some immigrants bring skills here and aren't having negative impacts on our society by bringing in non-intellectual values. And when was the last time you saw a person from India or China expect everyone else to speak an Indian language or post signage in Chinese _just to please them_? No. My experience is that technical Indian and Asian people come here knowing English. These two distinct groups of immigrant types are apples and oranges from each other, but the Liberals want us to see them as "the same". I'm not against people coming to the US who are going to make the US actually a better place. Why would I be? But not everyone coming to the US is going to be improvement and not everyone coming to the US is going to be a detriment. They're not "all one ball of wax".
This is similar to how the Liberals want us to all lump African Americans and Hispanics into one category. No. African-Americans were enslaved, brought here against their will, and then MISTREATED. "Illegal" hispanics on the otherhand are here not just because they want to be, but because they broke the law to get here. Nobody "abducted" them and if they were mistreated after doing that, what did they expect?
They had some Hispanic woman from Detroit saying that Michigan's plan to bring "hi-tech skilled" immigrants to Detroit and give them Visas was bad because they should train people like her already here and give them citizenship. Who promised you a rose garden miss?? The people they are talking about bringing to the US value intellectual values or _they wouldn't already have the skills_ :-D
